About me

About me

Viktoria Koval

I am a mandala artist based in St. Augustine, Florida, working full time as an artist for the past five years. My primary medium is acrylic, applied to wood, canvas, ceramics, glass, jewelry, magnets, sculptures—almost any surface that welcomes mandala art. I also incorporate resin to enhance depth and bring a vibrant, luminous energy to my work. Every piece I create is painted freehand, guided by intention and unique vibration. I use no stencils—each mandala is one of a kind.

My creative process is intuitive and heart-led. I choose colors by feeling and allow each design to unfold naturally. Inspired by nature and the belief in oneness, I see mandalas as more than visual art. I believe the order and harmony of colors can positively influence mood, balance, energy, and support overall well-being. Creating mandalas has brought peace and awareness into my own life, and that energy is carried into every piece I create.

I grew up in Poland, where I did not believe art could be a life path. That changed after I moved to the United States. Living in St. Augustine for the past ten years opened me to creativity in a powerful way, and one quiet moment painting mandalas on flower pots revealed my true calling.

Before fully dedicating myself to art, I worked for many years as a professional horse trainer and behaviorist, specializing in newborn foals and imprint training. I taught clinics and lectures, including at universities, focusing on horse behavior, biomechanics, and energy. That background in teaching and understanding nonverbal communication naturally led me to teaching art. Today, I offer mandala classes locally—most often at Coconut Barrel Artisan Market—and private sessions can also be booked. I occasionally donate my time teaching art at the Council on Aging, sharing creativity with elders in the community.

I am deeply dedicated to the St. Augustine local community. While I once traveled across Florida, for the past two years I have chosen to stay rooted locally. You can find me every Saturday at the St. Augustine Amphitheater Farmers Market, a gathering place that celebrates local food, art, and true human connection. I also appear at smaller local events, beach pier markets on Wednesdays, festivals, and during First Friday Art Walk, often near the Ximenez-Fatio House or on St. George Street.

My work can be found through collaborations with Zora Bora Gallery on Cuna Street, Anchored Studio Gallery on St. George Street, and Coconut Barrel, the largest artisan market in Northeast Florida.

Today, horses remain a meaningful part of my life as a passion and hobby, and I occasionally guide friends and long-time clients through behavioral challenges rooted in a deeper understanding of equine energy, biomechanics, and body language.

Mission Statement

Healing power of Mandala

Mandalas, meaning “circles” in Sanskrit, are sacred symbols that are used for meditation, prayer, healing and art therapy for both children and adults. Mandalas have been shown in clinical studies to boost the immune system, reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure, promote sleep and ease depression.

Mandalas are used for insight, healing and self-expression in a circular design, reflecting the wholeness of the person creating it. This spiritual circle helps promote mindfulness, focus attention and promote healing. Carl Jung described a mandala as “a representation of the unconscious self “

A mandala hanging over the wall can also serve as protection of negative energy and unwelcomed emotions of anger, hatred or depression.
